In late-'90s London, amid the dynamic electronic music scene, a 20-year-old Kieran Hebden emerged. Initially part of Fridge, a post-rock band on Trevor Jackson's Output label, Hebden's journey took a distinct turn in 1998 with Four Tet, his solo electronic project. Departing from conventional dance beats, Hebden infused warm jazz and folk samples—reedy horns, harps, and exotic instruments from world-music realms. His sonic evolution, evident in albums like Rounds (2003) and There Is Love in You (2010), reflects a daring exploration, marrying psychedelia and dance beats. Collaborations with diverse artists showcase Four Tet's unique, inimitable sound.
