During that stretch, he submitted more than fifty job applications, eventually landing work that demanded double shifts, minimal sleep, and nonstop hustle. In between, he wrote and recorded tirelessly with producer and close friend Jerry Jacobs, squeezing creativity into every spare hour.
That second chance sharpened his purpose. McDaniel poured himself fully into songwriting, sharing unfiltered stories of resilience, regret, and growth. His honesty resonated deeply, building a loyal community drawn to his vulnerability and unmistakable swagger. In recent years, he reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales and iTunes Country charts with the self-reflective “Project,” while the emotional “Your Daughter,” written for his sister, climbed to No. 3 across all genres. Signed to Big Machine Records, he released his debut EP Blame It All On Country Music in early 2024 and began delivering his country-rock sound to sold-out crowds nationwide. With “Burned Down Heaven” impacting country radio and his autobiographical debut album Lost Ones now available, McDaniel’s mission remains clear: turn hard-earned lessons into songs that help others find hope.
