Tig Notaro is an American stand-up comedian, writer, radio contributor, and actress. Her stand-up style is mainly deadpan, and it is part of the reason that she has become so famous over the years. She was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album and even nominated for the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.She’s one of the most critically acclaimed comedians in the industry today.
Early in her career, she would live and work in Denver as she began to create a band and get into the industry. Notaro would promote bands that would allow her to become more involved in Los Angeles before she would enter stand-up comedy. She has been featured on numerous Comedy Central Presents shows and even in The Sarah Silverman Program. In 2011, she would release her debut stand-up album, Good One.
Over the course of her career, Notaro has also been featured on Conan, This American Life, Inside Amy Schumer, and several others. She’s also the star of the Netflix movie, Tig, which is a homage to her real life. Her very first stand-up one-hour special would be released in 2015 by HBO and it would be titled Tig Notaro: Boyish Girl Interrupted.
