Daniel Dae Kim is a trailblazing actor, producer, and advocate who has built a career grounded in purpose and representation. Known for powerful roles in Lost, Hawaii Five-0, and Always Be My Maybe, Kim also serves as executive producer of The Good Doctor, a hit series adapted from a Korean format. His company, 3AD Media, champions underrepresented voices and holds a first-look deal with Amazon Studios.
Kim recently wrapped filming Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, playing Fire Lord Ozai. He has also starred in The Hot Zone: Anthrax for NatGeo, Roar on Apple TV+, and Stowaway on Netflix. He voiced a lead role in Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon, and will appear in AMC’s animated series Pantheon.
Off-screen, Kim is a vocal advocate for Asian American representation and social justice. He co-chairs The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), is part of the White House AANHPI Commission, and frequently speaks out against anti-Asian hate.
Raised in New York and Pennsylvania after being born in South Korea, Kim began acting at Haverford College before earning an MFA from NYU. He has also performed on Broadway in The King and I, earning a Broadway Beacon Award.
