BoDeans have long been celebrated as one of America’s premier live bands, known for their energetic performances and deep connection with fans. “The key to the BoDeans identity is the fans’ connection to our music,” says frontman Kurt Neumann. Since their debut in 1986 with Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams, BoDeans have released 14 studio albums—10 of which charted on the Billboard Top 200—and delivered hit singles across Mainstream Rock, Top 40, and Triple A formats.
Their breakout hit, “Closer to Free,” became a cultural touchstone as the theme to FOX’s Party of Five, peaking at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other fan favorites like “Fadeaway,” “Only Love,” and “Dreams” helped earn them Rolling Stone’s “Best New American Band” reader poll win in 1987. They were key players in shaping the Adult Alternative (Triple A) radio format and have toured with music icons including U2, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and David Bowie.
