After serving over four years in the United States Marine Corps—including two overseas tours and a combat deployment to Iraq—Scooter Brown traded his guns for guitars and set out on a new journey.
Forming the Scooter Brown Band, he began playing shows in and around Houston, Texas. Since then, the band has toured across North America, sharing the stage with some of their biggest musical influences, including the Charlie Daniels Band, Travis Tritt, Dwight Yoakam, Lee Roy Parnell, and the Marshall Tucker Band. With two military veterans among their ranks, the band remains deeply committed to giving back, dedicating their time to support Veteran organizations like Base Camp 40 - Warriors in the Wild, the Lone Survivor Foundation, and the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation.
In recent years, the Scooter Brown Band has ushered in a new chapter, blending their sound into what they call modern Southern rock. In late 2017, they released American Son, an album that earned them a spot on Rolling Stone’s “Artists to Watch” list. The title track was featured on popular Spotify playlists such as “Country Rocks,” “Southern Rock 101,” and “Texas Music Now.” In 2018, Brown gained national recognition as a finalist on USA Network’s Real Country and was honored as Male Vocalist of the Year at the Third Annual Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards presented by iHeartRadio.
In July 2019, the band made their Grand Ole Opry debut, introduced by none other than Opry member and longtime road companion Charlie Daniels. Since then, they’ve maintained a relentless touring schedule while collaborating with some of Nashville’s top songwriters.
