Abraham Alexander is a Greek-born, Texas-based singer-songwriter whose music fuses soul, folk, gospel, and R&B into emotionally charged storytelling. Born in Athens and raised near the Acropolis, he moved to Texas at 11 to escape racial tension. After losing his mother to a drunk driver, Alexander was adopted in his teens and found solace and identity in sports—until a torn ACL ended his soccer dreams and led him to a guitar. That injury changed everything.
What began as a way to pass time became a creative awakening. Drawing inspiration from artists like Bill Withers, Leon Bridges, and Gary Clark Jr., Alexander began crafting deeply personal songs rooted in pain, hope, and resilience. A fateful encounter at a recording studio led to backing vocals on Leon Bridges’ breakthrough album Coming Home—and a new musical path.
His debut album, Sea/Sons (2023, Dualtone Records), blends lush acoustic textures, haunting harmonies, and lyrics that explore grief, belonging, and healing. Produced by Alexander alongside Matt Pence and Brad Cook, the album includes features from Mavis Staples (“Déjà Vu”) and Gary Clark Jr. (“Stay”), and mixes genres with fluid ease. From the spectral tones of “Today” to the cinematic swell of “Blood Under the Bridge,” each track is layered with emotional and sonic depth.
Whether he’s honoring his late brother in “Xavier,” singing of injustice, or reflecting on moments of joy, Alexander’s goal is simple: connection. “I want people to feel less alone,” he says.
