After reuniting in 2021 for their 50th anniversary, the Doobie Brothers—Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald, Pat Simmons, and John McFee—rekindled their creative spark. That energy led to Walk This Road, the first full-length album in their 54-year history to feature all three principal songwriters writing, playing, and singing together. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer John Shanks (who also worked on 2021’s Liberté), the album is a seamless blend of each member’s distinct style and voice.
In true Doobies fashion, each songwriter brought individual material to the table, then collaborated with Shanks to shape the final versions.
