Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir was born in Garour, Iceland on May 6, 1989. Lead singer, guitarist, and frontwoman for the Icelandic indie folk band Of Monsters and Men, the group that broke out with the single “Little Talks.” She has mentioned in interviews that she admires Bon Iver and would love to work with Justin Vernon and his other collaborators. She was performing solo under the name Songbird, recruiting her friend Brynjar to help on guitar, followed up by adding Raggi on glockenspiel, and then three more members.
