He is highly active within the United Kingdom, winning five BAFTA TV Awards for his comedy chat show, The Graham Norton Show, which has been on the air since 2007. Beginning in 1992, Norton began to make his entrance into the entertainment industry, and he has made a massive name for himself since then.
Graham Norton would start with stand-up comedy, including a drag act as a tea-towel-clad Mother Teresa of Calcutta in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Then, he would make the press and get a chance to be a regular comedian on BBC Radio 4, Loose Ends, in the early 1990s. He would continue to work with BBC and numerous other channels, focusing on comedy exclusively during this time.
In 1998, he would move to Channel 4 in the U.K. to host his talk shows. He would host So Graham Norton and V Graham Norton. As an openly gay performer, he made a name for himself and represented the LGBTQ community. Named by The Observer in 2003, he was one of the top funniest acts in British comedy, and his The Graham Norton Show continues to be one of the most popular comedy shows today.
