Founded in 2003 by Gary Sinise and Kimo Williams in Chicago, the Lt. Dan Band is an American cover band with a mission to entertain troops, perform at USO shows, and raise funds for disabled veterans. Named after Sinise's iconic character in Forrest Gump, the band evolved from local gigs to charitable performances. Sinise, recognized as "Lieutenant Dan," sought permission to bring musicians on USO tours. Engaging in over 400 concerts, they support organizations like the USO and Operation Iraqi Children. Sinise's dedication led to the creation of the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial in 2014.
