Big Thief is an American indie band formed in New York City. The band itself has both indie and folk roots, and they have multiple members.Currently, they are comprised of Adrianne Lenker on guitar and vocals, Buck Meek on guitar and supporting vocals, Max Oleartchik on bass, and James Krivchenia on drums. They all attended the Berklee College of Music, but they formed after graduation.
Their first album, Masterpiece, would be released via Saddle Creek Records in 2016. They have been active in the music industry since 2015, and they have worked with Saddle Creek Records, 4AD, and Weathervane Music. They have released four studio albums and are on their way to releasing another, titled Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, which will come out in February of 2022.
Over the course of their career, they have been positively revered for their musical talents, including their indie and folk sound unique to their genre. They have also been nominated for three Grammy awards, but they did not win either.
