As an artist, Nick Leondardus van de Wall it is professionally known as Afrojack. He is a Dutch DJ, music producer, and remixer from South Holland. In 2007, he was able to create the record label, Wall Recordings, and his debut album,Forget the World, was released in 2014. He has been featured as one of the top DJs in the world, according toDJ Mag. Currently, he also is the CEO of LDH Europe.
Prior to his entrance into the music industry, he was raised in South Holland, born to a Dutch mother in a Surinamese father.Afrojack would develop an interest in music at an early age and learn to play the piano by the age of five. He would study graphic design in Rotterdam for a year before he decided that he wanted to truly do music for his career. At the age of 11, he was even producing his own tracks at home for more than five hours a day, and it would take him more than seven years for him to produce his first song, “In Your Face”.
By the time that he was 14, he started to perform at local pubs and clubs in the area. He would first release music under the name Afrojack and receive international success with the song “Take Over Control”. It would chart in 10 countries worldwide. He would also continue to make more music, creating an Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. Afrojack would release this in 2010, shortly before his first EP, Lost & Found. This would be his entrance into music, as he would be asked by the singer Pitbull to help him with his number one single, “Give Me Everything”, which will be released in 2011.
Over the course of his career, he has worked with numerous artists such as David Guetta, Mike Brown, and Madonna. He has also headlined at a number of different electronic music festivals, including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and Coachella. He continues to be a strong contender in the music industry, and is currently married to Elettra Lamborghini.
