Live entertainment, built around a special occasion, can be a powerful force. A moment of light, joy, and inspiration that makes a monument out of a memory. At Jay Siegan Presents, this is our north star. And this story reveres the reasons we follow it.
An event planner reached out on behalf of her clients, a couple celebrating ten years of marriage with a vow renewal in Cabo. They had a clear vision: they wanted The Lumineers. This was not just an idea, a suggestion, or a dream, it was the assignment. Their absolute favorite band, on a private beach, for sixty of the people they loved most.
The couple met on those shores. Their first date was a Lumineers show, and the strums and drums of this roots-rock music had set the soundtrack of their early relationship. On that very first show together, the band stepped out into the crowd and played a beautiful acoustic version of their exalted anthem, "Ho Hey". It was that intimate circle of ceremony that only live music can hold, creating the kind of collective feeling that helps people fall in love.
A decade later, with their two young kids by their side, more family and friends in town, and health concerns casting quiet worries over the future, they weren't sure when they'd have another chance to celebrate like this again. They wanted the real thing, and they trusted their planner to find a way to make it happen.
Our clients had been carrying this idea for a while. They knew their love was worth celebrating, and life circumstances were changing fast. The right gathering would not just honor their decade together, but initiate their family into the next chapter of their lives. They wanted to mark a turning point on a positive note, a note sung by none other than Wesley Shultz and the bittersweet harmonies of The Lumineers.
That level of specificity is something we don’t encounter too often, but we understand deeply. When a client comes to us having already landed on the artist, the conversation shifts from "who" to "how." Fortunately, we’re seasoned experts in both.

The Lumineers are a working touring band. Their schedules are planned years out and their team is spread across time zones. Initially, it would be too difficult for the full band to commit to the event, but instead considered a more stripped-down performance.
It was a reasonable starting place. But not the original request. So in partnership with Cydney, our event planner extraordinaire who cared immensely about her clients, we continued to pull out the stops.
If speed dial still existed, we’d have all the right people on it. Through consistent, personable outreach across artist, agency, and tour management, our team worked diligently to meet the band’s requirements and the client's vision.
And then Cydney had an idea that may sway the tides. We decided to bring their love story into the conversation.
The couple wrote a personal letter to the band, explaining who they were and what this event meant to them. When the artist teams understood the weight of the ask, it shifted the dynamic. It became something the band really wanted to be a part of, even if they had to jump through hoops.
The result: planes were arranged and hoops were jumped. Our clients booked a full, five-piece Lumineers performance.
Ho, hey.

Getting The Lumineers to Cabo was our first problem solved. But not our last.
The venue was a private beach residence, which meant no backstage, no loading dock, and no built-in infrastructure. While Cydney and her team coordinated a miraculous buildout, we were in the background and on the phone with the band, ensuring that local vendors were briefed, all musician needs were met, and sound systems could match the power of the Pacific ocean.
With an event like this, the right partnerships define the success, and our event planner Cydney really led the dream team. She was as personally invested in this event as anyone could be, so we were happy to handle major logistics and production so that she could focus on our clients, their guests, and aligning their highest wishes with reality.
Band arrived and comfortable in a makeshift greenroom, sound stage and equipment shipped and set up, DJ hired and setting the tone — all the tiny grains of sand came together to form the view. It was showtime.
Before taking the stage, the couple had a brief exchange with the band. They mentioned their first date, and the moment "Ho Hey" was played in the awe-stricken crowd. The band remembered. That night, when the time was right, Wesley, Jeremiah, and the rest of The Lumineers stepped off the stage to the middle of the dancefloor for an acoustic rendition of the song, the same way the couple had first experienced it.

A transactional booking agency secures the artist and moves on. We don't operate that way. Simply put, our hearts are always in it. We couldn’t (and wouldn’t) have it any other way.
We're in this business because we believe these moments matter. Not in an abstract, performative sense. In an authentic, hand-holding, toes-in-the-sand and tears-in-our-eyes kind of way. We plan and produce and problem-solve because we know and love the meaningful magic that happens when everything goes right.
This one went right. It was not easy. But to this couple, it was everything.
