Emerging from the gritty north of England, YUNGBLUD—born Dominic Harrison—has become one of the most explosive and uncompromising voices in modern alternative rock. Known for his raw energy, thought-provoking lyrics, and genre-defying sound, he blends punk spirit, hip-hop grit, and pop accessibility into anthems for outsiders worldwide.
Raised in Yorkshire in a musical family, with a father who dealt vintage guitars and a grandfather who played with T. Rex, Harrison drew inspiration from Bob Dylan, the Clash, and the Beatles. By 19, he released his debut protest single, “King Charles,” followed by “I Love You, Will You Marry Me,” fusing grime and dub elements. A major-label deal with Geffen led to his 2018 self-titled EP and debut full-length 21st Century Liability, which introduced his fiercely rebellious style.
YUNGBLUD’s breakthrough arrived in 2019 with the EP The Underrated Youth, featuring collaborations with Halsey, Travis Barker, and Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds. The same year, he teamed with Machine Gun Kelly and Barker on the U.S. rock hit “I Think I’m Okay,” and scored another smash with Marshmello and Blackbear on “Tongue Tied.”
In 2020, his sophomore album Weird! topped the U.K. chart, boosted by collaborations with Denzel Curry and Bring Me the Horizon. He followed with a moving cover of Bowie’s “Life on Mars,” soundtracking NASA’s Perseverance rover landing. His 2022 self-titled third album included “The Funeral,” “Memories” with Willow, and “Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today.”
YUNGBLUD’s rise has been defined not only by records but by unforgettable performances, including his emotional Changes (Live From Villa Park / Back To The Beginning), which showcased his vulnerability and deep connection to fans.
He carried that spirit into 2023’s “Lowlife,” “Hated,” and “Happier” featuring Oli Sykes, plus a 2024 collaboration with Lil Yachty. His ambitious fourth album Idols arrived in 2025, inspired by Britpop icons and glam rock heroes like Bowie, Oasis, and My Chemical Romance—cementing his place as a fearless cultural force.
