Tyler Florence is an American chef and TV host of many notable Food Network shows. He was born in South Carolina and would attend Johnson & Wales University, where he would study culinary arts. He would also receive an honorary doctorate from the same institution after amassing considerable culinary success in his own career. He’s currently the owner of the Wayfare Tavern in San Francisco, California.He’s well known for his Italian, Tex-Mex, American, and Contemporary culinary cuisine.
Starting out in his career, Florence would become a presenter for Globe Trekkerand host Food 911 and How to Boil Water. He was also a judge on the show Worst Cooks in America for multiple seasons, including seasons 6, 8, 12-13, and 15 until the present. He also worked as a presenter and a featured guest on Shaq’s Big Challenge. For his culinary expertise, Florence has also been a guest on The Today Show and The View.
Other than his television pursuits, Tyler Florence has also become known for his work in several restaurants. He has worked at Restaurant 146 and even opened a few smaller restaurants of his own, including Bar Florence. He also opened a small chain of luxury kitchen supply stores in Northern California. He’s married to Tolan Clark and the couple have three children together, currently living in the Bay Area.
