Los Lobos is an American rock band hailing from Los Angeles, and their band name means “the Wolves”. They are influenced by numerous genres, including rock and roll, Tex-Mex, country, zydeco, R&B, blues, brown-eyed soul, and several others. They would rise to popularity when they would release their version of Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba” in 1987. Their single would top the charts in several countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States.
Los Lobos is comprised of five members today: David Hidalgo, Louie Pérez, Cesar Rosas, Conrad Lozano, and Steve Berlin. Having produced music since the 1970s, they have become a recognizable part of the world of rock and roll, and they were even inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. More recently, people might recognize this band as the performers for the theme song for Handy Mandy, which is a children’s TV show that currently airs through the Disney media conglomerate. Their most recent single, “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights”, was released in 2010.
