Jay Chandrasekhar was born in Chicago and would attend Lake Forest Academy before going to Colgate and Loyola University. He’s a comedian, film director, screenwriter, and actor.He is best known for his work with the sketch comedy group, Broken Lizard. He’s also directed Super Troopers, Club Dread, Beerfest, and Super Troopers 2.
Since the 2000s, Chandrasekhar has been involved in numerous notable comedies, including Community and The Goldbergs. He’s also well known for his film, The Dukes of Hazzard, where he worked as the film director. As an actor, he has starred in Psych and Jackass: Number Two. He even played the racist comedian Gupta Gupti Gupta in Community.
Since 2005, he has been married to actress Susan Clarke. He has three children with his wife. He named them after members of his family, and even used the name in the editorial credits for Paddle Cruiser and Super Troopers. Other notable TV shows that he has worked on include Up All Night, Community, Royal Pains, Chuck, Ben & Kate, New Girl, The Grinder, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Resident Alien, and several others. He also acted in Brooklyn Nine-Nine as himself in the episode, Nutriboom.
