Shin Lim is a Canadian American magician known for his talents with card manipulation and sleight of hand. As one of the most talented magicians in the world, he is known for his elaborate magic tricks that feature close-up magic routines, where he is silent but performing his tricks. As a self-taught magician, he is one of the most talented individuals in the world, nodding his talents to learning from YouTube when he was younger.
What is interesting is not just his magical talents, but that he almost became a pianist. He was trained to be a professional pianist, but Shin Lim would suffer horrible carpal tunnel syndrome and must abandon his original plans. Instead, he would become discovered in 2012 and he would be seen performing his magic tricks for the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques for Close-Up Card Magic. He would also appear on numerous other shows during this time including Penn & Teller: Fool Us and America’s Got Talent.
During America’s Got Talent on their thirteenth season, he would become the winner overall for the entire season in 2018. He would also be allowed to participate as a previous winner on America’s Got Talent: The Champions, where he would win again, making a name for himself not only in America, but also internationally to a wider audience and fan base.
