Melissa Villaseñor is an American comedian, impressionist, actress, artist, singer, and musician. She’s best known for her work as a cast member on the hit comedy show, Saturday Night Live, and she has been with them since 2016 when she joined during their 42nd season of the show. She’s become more famous for her voice work as well in hit shows such as TripTank, Family Guy, Adventure Time, OK K.O.!, and Let’s Be Heroes.
Early in her life, Melissa was born in Whittier, California. She is of Mexican descent, and she would begin to perform stand-up comedy at the age of fifteen in Hollywood at the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp. She was a semi-finalist on the sixth season of America’s Got Talent. She would not win, but she would go on to gain attention for her comedy skits and her talents. Once hired by Saturday Night Live, she became the second Latina cast member to be hired, and the first to be promoted to repertory status within the show.
Aside from her comedy and her acting, Melissa is also involved in visual art and music, creating her debut album, Dreamer, in October of 2019. She also hosted the Independent Spirit Awards in 2021. Some of her most famous impressions have been of Sarah Silverman, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Dolly Parton, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Christina Aguilera, Owen Wilson, Miley Cyrus, and Björk.
