Caleb Johnson is an American singer who won the 13th season of American Idol. Before appearing on the show, he was the frontman for the band Elijah Hooker. He was born in Asheville in North Carolina and his mother and father both worked in local area. They both have backgrounds in music, and Caleb would also entertain the prosperity of working in the music industry. He would become interested in seeing when he was 17 years old, and he was asked by a member of a band in his school to become the lead singer. The first song he ever performed at his high school in public would be “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Following this performance, Caleb Johnson would really dive deep into music. As an artist, he considers Chris Cornell to be his biggest musical influence as Rush as his favorite band. He would continue performing with other bands over the course of his career, but he would audition for the TV show,American Idol, for three seasons in a row and finally get put through in the 11th season but fall short of making it to the top 24. He auditions again in 2014 for the 13th season to make it to the finals, when he was declared the winner out of all the contestants.
After his win, he will continue to make more music, releasing multiple different albums. He would collaborate with stars like James Michael and Howard Benson, but then he would begin to make music independently. He also joined the Trans-Siberian Orchestra for their winter tour, singing songs in 2018 with the band. Additionally, he also added a portion to his stage name when he released Born from Southern Ground. Now known as Caleb Johnson & the Ramblin Saints, he said that it would add a more rock direction to his music.
