Mayim Bialik is an American actress, game show host, and author. Since the late 1980s, she has been active as an actor. One of her first big roles would be as the title character for the NBC sitcom, Blossom, in the early 1990s. However, most people know her best as Amy Farrah Fowler on Big Bang Theory, which would run from 2010 until 2019. For that role, she earned herself four nominations for Primetime Emmy Awards. Bialik would win the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series twice, in 2015 and 2017.
Prior to her introduction into the acting industry, Mayim would go to school in the Los Angeles area, graduating from University of California, Los Angeles, where she would earn a degree in neuroscience. She would also minor in Jewish and Hebrew Studies, completing her degree in 2000. After realizing she did not have the grades for medical school, she would go back to acting. However, she would earn her Doctor of Philosophy in neuroscience from her alma mater in 2007.
More recently, Mayim Bialik has become famous for her new role as the host of Jeopardy! As the host of the beloved show, she would be announced to host the rest of the 2021 and 2022 season alongside her colleague, Ken Jennings. Aside from acting and hosting TV shows, Mayim also has written two books, one about attachment parenting and the other about vegan recipes she cooks at home.
