Kumail Nanjiani is a Pakistani-American comedian, actor, and screenwriter. Since 2008, he has been involved in the entertainment industry and has worked on notable projects. Born in Pakistan, he would move to the United States at the age of eighteen and study at Grinnell College in Iowa. He would major in computer science and philosophy, but he would quickly become interested in other parts of the entertainment industry.
Nanjiani would host The Indoor Kids, a video-game-themed podcast in 2011. In addition, he would play in numerous projects, including The Kings of Summer, Portlandia, and Franklin & Bash. Kumail would also guest star in Veep and pick up a recurring role in Adventure Time and Newsreaders. Much of his film career has been for productions with Comedy Central and even for X-Files.
More recently, Kumail has gained attention for his portrayal in The Eternals from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He played Kingo, and the film was released in November of 2021. He would also star in The Independent, and an upcoming series on Disney+ focused on Obi-Wan Kenobi. He is married to Emily Gordon, and he is an atheist.
