Biz Stone is an American entrepreneur who is the co-founder of Twitter and several other technology companies within the past two decades. He served as the creative director for Xanga from 1999 until 2001 and he also co-founded Jelly with Ben Finkel, which was launched in 2014.It is a search engine driven by visual imagery and discovery, but it was acquired by Pinterest in 2017.Recently in 2017, he announced that he would return to Twitter to work with them once more.
Prior to his massive success, Stone achieved a lot in his educational career. He would attend Northeastern and the University of Massachusetts Boston, learning a lot but failing to graduate from either. Stone became an angel investor after his success with Twitter, helping to diversify and expand companies like Square, Slack, Medium, Nest, Beyond Meat, Medium, Polaroid Swing, Workpop, and Faraday. He’s also on the board of directors for many of the above-mentioned firms.
Regarding Twitter, Stone has holds on to the patent for inventing Twitter with Jack Dorsey. He also has been honored with numerous accolades for his work, including Entrepreneur of the Decade by Inc. magazine, one of the top 100 Most Influential people in the World by Time magazine, and he was also recognized with an Innovation Award by The Economist back in 2014.
