La Doña, born Cecilia Cassandra Peña-Govea in San Francisco, California, is a solo reggaeton singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. The Chicana artist began her musical journey at age 7, mastering trumpet, strings, and percussion in her family’s conjunto. Drawing from diverse influences like Latin folk, reggaeton, cumbia, and hip hop, she coined the term “Femmeton” for her bold, autobiographical tracks. La Doña champions love, justice, and the queer brown experience, blending live instrumentation and driving percussion. Recognized by YouTube’s Foundry Artists, she's performed at major festivals, with accolades from The New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle.
