Jeremy Strong is an American actor who is best known for his work on Succession, which has been on HBO since 2018. He won a Primetime Emmy for his efforts in the series, and he continues to receive accolades and nominations. He was also more recently named one of the most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2022. However, his acting career has humble roots from his own university experience.
Strong would begin his acting career after studying at the Yale School of Drama, Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. He would play in various plays at the Williamstown Theatre Festival. His first non-Broadway performance would be in Defiance, which was released in 2006. He would also perform on Broadway as Richard Rich, 1st Baron Rich in the 2008 revival of the play, A Man for All Seasons. He would also make another film in Humboldt County.
Since then, he has continued to appear in numerous films including but not limited to Lincoln, Parkland, Selma, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Zero Dark Thirty, The Big Short, Molly’s Game, Armageddon Time, and others. Jeremy Strong has been known for preparing intensely for his roles to capture his character perfectly. He believes that he must endure what the character has, so then he can best tap into their emotions and portray them honestly. His devotion to his craft is admirable and he refers to his own methods as “identity diffusion”, where he becomes one with the character and he works to become prepared to perform at his highest ability.
In his personal life, he has married Emma Wall, a Danish psychiatrist, and they have three daughters together. He is raising his family in New York, while also splitting time in Copenhagen at their second home, and a vacation home on the Danish coast in Tisvilde.
