We can’t wait to connect with you.

Please note: We are about curating, securing, and booking the right talent for your event. There are some things we don’t do. If you are looking for celebrity ‘cameos’ or shout-outs, this is not the place for that. No fan inquiries, please. We only work with the talent listed on opportunities in their regular fee ranges. Other requests will be politely disregarded.

Most Popular Latin Bands
for Private Events, Conferences,
Weddings, and Fundraisers
Spice up your next fundraiser or special event with a night of Latin music. There’s no denying that Latin music is on fire right now. The worldwide popularity of genres like reggaeton and Latino pop is higher than ever, thanks to the current generation of artists such as Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and Karol G. To give you an idea of the effects of Latin music, Bad Bunny was the most-streamed artist globally on Spotify – twice (in 2020 and 2021). In addition, the Recording Industry Association of America reported that the genre earned a revenue of $886 million in 2021 – an extremely impressive 35% increase from the previous year.

But how did Latin music get to this point? While the artists of today certainly pushed the genre to the front, we can’t forget about the Latin bands and artists that paved the way for their music to thrive.

Brief History of Latin Music in the U.S.

Early in the 1920-40s, Latin genres such as the tango and samba were quite famous among dancers. The music was lively and wild enough for people to dance to in ballrooms.

In the following decades, Latin influences found their way into jazz, country, and rhythm & blues. Music from Cuba and Brazil found its way into the hearts of jazz musicians. Tejano music, from the Mexican-Texan community, was on the rise as Latin music started to fuse with country. In addition, the Afro-Cuban rhythm helped influence much of the rhythm & blues sound.

But things started to take off with the emergence of Ritchie Valens, who blended Latin music with rock & roll. His song, “La Bamba,” became one of the first Latin American music hits. Then, in the modern rock & roll era, guitarist Carlos Santana started to make waves with a total Latin approach.

Then Latin artists began to crossover into pop. A couple of the first successful acts were Gloria Estefan and Jose Feliciano. But the genre really exploded when Selena rose to fame in the 1990s. She made a name for herself when she released her album, Amor Prohibido, in 1994, which became one of the best-selling albums in the U.S.

Selena’s success opened the door for more artists to enter the mainstream, such as Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, and Jennifer Lopez. In the 2000s, Shakira crossed over into the English market and further expanded the reach of Latin music to a worldwide audience.

Since then, Latin music has continued to be a part of the U.S. culture – and even more so today with the rise of Latino rap and reggaeton in popular media. As a result, you can hear elements of reggaeton used in the hits of many U.S. artists such as Drake, Doja Cat, and Maroon 5.
